On 10 September, Folgate Underwriting Agency welcomed brokers and partners to Upminster Golf Club for a fantastic day of golf, fundraising and networking in support of the Limbless Association.

With the sun shining, the event brought together colleagues and industry partners for a round of golf, friendly competition and a shared commitment to raising money for a charity that makes a real difference to people’s lives.

The day featured a series of on-course competitions, including nearest the pin, longest drive and long putt, alongside a raffle and auction, all helping to raise vital funds for the charity. After a wonderful afternoon on the course, guests gathered on the patio to enjoy the sunshine, celebrate the day’s successes and continue the fundraising.

A powerful reminder of why the charity matters

One of the highlights of the afternoon was hearing from David Rose, Chairman of the Limbless Association, who shared his personal experience of losing a limb following a motorbike accident in his twenties.

His moving speech offered a powerful insight into how such a life-changing event can affect every aspect of a person’s life, while highlighting the importance of support, guidance and community during recovery and beyond.

Having experienced these challenges himself, David now leads the Limbless Association in its work supporting others navigating the physical and emotional impact of limb loss. His story was a poignant reminder of why the charity’s work is so important and gave everyone attending an even greater appreciation of the cause behind the day.

Raising vital funds together

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, donated and supported the event, Folgate was delighted to raise almost £7,500 for the Limbless Association.
