Folgate Underwriting Agency Limited (FUAL) has strengthened its Professional Indemnity (PI) proposition with the appointment of Terry Shaw as Chief Underwriting Officer – Regional PI.

Terry brings more than three decades of insurance experience to the role, including extensive expertise across both the London and regional markets. He joins FUAL from Aqueous, where he spent 11 years and most recently held the position of Head of PI.

Terry began his career in the London Market with QBE and Lockton before moving into the regional market, where he held senior roles with CNA Hardy and most recently, Aqueous. His career has given him broad experience across the PI market, alongside strong and long-standing relationships with brokers in both jurisdictions.

In his new role, Terry will lead FUAL’s regional PI book, working closely with Paul Freeman, Chief Underwriting Officer – UK & International PI, to further develop the business and build on their extensive broker relationships across their respective markets.

The appointment forms part of a significant investment in FUAL’s PI proposition, bringing together complementary expertise across the London Market and regional business and enabling the business to provide a broader solution for clients across multiple professions and territories.

FUAL’s PI team has undergone significant development over recent months. In November 2025, FUAL announced the appointments of Debbie Farman as Head of PI Renewals and Mat Harvey as Head of PI, followed by the appointment of Paul Freeman as Chief Underwriting Officer – UK & International PI in April 2026. The team has since grown to seven people, further expanding the expertise and range of PI solutions available to brokers and their clients.
